Punjab Highway Patrol

Field performance of PHP on the basis of data received through Helpline 1124 for providing emergency services/assistance on Punjab highways is evaluated on daily, monthly and annually (calendar year) and a comprehensive report in this regard is also initiated, accordingly. Data of complaints/ request for help/ assistance received and services rendered by PHP is analyzed and recommendations proffered. Each category of help/ assistance is analysed from different dimensions i.e. area (Range/ District), time, etc. For example in case of accidents, the reports amply highlight the significant aspects like area(range/ district/ beat), time, reason/ cause of accident, inter-city routes prone to accidents, etc. A comparative analysis of data of last quarter and complete year is carried out in monthly and annual reports. The reports are a vivid reflection of the daily, monthly and yearly performance of PHP and can go a long way in improving governance and ensuring road safety/ security on highways of Punjab besides contributing in improvement of law and order situation in the Country.
